Introducing our new Center Director!

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kao-Ping Chua, MD, PhD, as Director of the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center, effective this month. Dr. Chua is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics with tenure, Co-Director of CHEAR Fellowship Programs, and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health.

2025 Best Paper in Child Health Policy Winner

The Susan B. Meister Award for Best Paper in Child Health Policy recognizes an outstanding scientific paper in child health policy in the past year. The award was established to recognize trainees at the University of Michigan for their contribution of novel methods or expanding knowledge about a significant clinical or public health issue in child health policy

Jessica Bezek, MS, was honored at the 17th Annual Susan B. Meister Lecture in Child Health Policy on Wednesday, April 2nd. Congratulations Jessica!

Training Opportunities at CHEAR

Apply to the CHEAR fellowship. This fellowship provides two years of support for physicians and PhD scientists interested in gaining rigorous training in pediatric health services research. We are now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year.
