During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, decision modeling research is pertinent in learning how best to defeat this virus. That's why Dr. Lisa A. Prosser, President of the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) and Director at CHEAR is a member of the COVID-19 Modeling Initiative. Partners include the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM), Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, and the University of Michigan.

In this month's issue of Science Magazine, CHEAR director and President of the Society for Medical Decision Making, Dr. Lisa A. Prosser is among the many directors co-signing an open letter urging scientists around the world to rapidly and openly share their COVID-19 modeling and research pertinent to the on-going pandemic and its consequences for health and society.
