Welcome to the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center at the University of Michigan, also known as CHEAR. With 18 core research investigators and more than 40 research staff, fellows, and students, our center is one of the largest of its kind focused on children. We conduct research and training in child health outcomes and health policy across several core research themes, such as data science, emerging technologies, outcomes research, policy, and communications. Our work is multidisciplinary, encompassing epidemiology, health policy, health services research, general pediatrics and pediatric subspecialties. Collaboration is essential to our work, and we have partners at more than 10 schools and colleges on campus and across multiple departments at the Medical School. Our research is funded by federal agencies (NIH, AHRQ, CDC, PCORI, HRSA), foundations, state government, and philanthropy. We are committed to being a policy resource, and to this end have a long history of collaboration with the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to evaluate state public health programs and initiatives.
We want to hear from you! To learn more about the CHEAR Center, our research or training programs, please feel free to contact me or any of our faculty or staff.
Best regards,
