Biography, Education


Dr. Zubin Modi is practicing pediatric nephrologist and health services researcher. He is a Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Michigan and a researcher at the Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Center. He completed his fellowship training in pediatric nephrology at the University of Michigan. During his fellowship training, he furthered his research training as a scholar at the Institute for Health Policy and Innovation at University of Michigan. Prior to that he completed his general pediatrics residence at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He obtained his M.D. at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. 

Dr. Modi's research interests include epidemiology, population-based outcomes, and health care delivery for children with, and at risk for, chronic kidney disease. He is also interested in the impact of health policy on chronically ill children. His current work is focused on health care utilization of children with chronic kidney disease, development of methods identifying pediatric CKD in large data sets, and mortality of young adults with end-stage renal disease.
