Biography, Education


Courtney Streur, M.D., M.S. is an Assistant Professor of Urology in the Division of Pediatric Urology at the University of Michigan with a joint appointment in the Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Center. Originally from St. Louis, Dr. Streur earned her M.D. degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. She trained in general urology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham and then completed a pediatric urology fellowship at the University of Michigan. As a part of her fellowship, she also obtained a Masters in Health and Health Care Research from the University of Michigan and trained in health services research.

Dr. Streur's clinical and research interest is in the care of patients with spina bifida, particularly during the transition from pediatric to adult care. Her research focus is in improving the education patients and families receive in order to prepare them for adulthood to help them live their fullest, most independent lives possible. She also researches the sexual and reproductive health of women with spina bifida.

Dr. Streur's clinical practice encompasses all of pediatric urology, including minimally invasive surgery, reconstructive surgery of patients with genitourinary abnormalities and neurogenic bladders, and endoscopic treatment of kidney stone disease.
