Flint Lead Exposure Registry (FLExR)
Faculty Contact: Kevin J. Dombkowski, DrPH, MS
The Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Center is collaborating with Michigan State University (MSU) to support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Flint Lead Exposure Registry (FLExR) www.flintregistry.org. CHEAR is supporting the FLExR under a four-year grant to MSU from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The registry aims to enroll residents who were exposed to lead-contaminated water from the Flint Water System during 2014-2015.
In support of this project, CHEAR will collaborate on the design and development of data acquisition strategies for the FLExR and identify candidate data sources from existing registries, administrative data sources, vital records, and community member surveys. In addition, CHEAR will collaborate with MSU to develop key evaluation and performance measures, including candidate metrics for the assessment of key processes, and related health outcomes.
